Here are the steps for my latest piece 'Dancing Light' :)

most of the people who commented said they'd prefer a strip of steps instead of an animation so that's what i did : D

1. Sketch
2. Base Colours
3. Changed the colours and did rocks and water in a bit more detail
4. Started working on the grass
5. Finished grass and added detail to the tree trunk
6. Changed the base colours and added detail to the tree leaves
7. Drew in the bamboo foresty bit
8. Started to colour Nika and drew some river banks in the background which i later deleted.
9. Nika is finished
10. Coloured Kitari and finished the water
11. Added detail to the rocks

FINISHED : D

This is so beautiful! You're one of the only artists I've seen that can really paint water and still capture it's feeling. Just wondering, for the details on the tree, did you use the smudge/blur tool or do you paint the details on?

Thank you so much <3
I tend to just use a painterly brush to paint on the tree trunk and do the leaves c:

So gorgeous! Again XD Do you use lineart, or does your sketch serve as your "lineart"? Like when you colored the wolf's outline in gold, did you lineart it, or is it sketchy? Can't tell lol.

Thanks!
I normally do a really rough sketch then sketch neatly over the top and i use that sketch as my lineart x)
But this picture is quite old now and i did use a lineart for it :)

Oh, I see lol. I may have to try that sometime. It seems to give it a more natural feel. Thanks for your help :)
